Relevance to patients and consumers:
Knowledge-translation platforms (KTPs) aim to support evidence-informed policymaking, typically with a particular focus on policies to ensure that the right programs, services and products get to the consumers who most need them. Increasingly KTPs formally involve consumers in their governance and systematically elicit consumer input through deliberative dialogues, both those involving only consumers (citizen panels) and those involving the full range of stakeholders (stakeholder dialogues). The combination of best evidence, citizen values and stakeholder insights appears to be a compelling combination for policymakers.
